The trustees of the Ngāi Tukairangi Hapū Trust govern the affairs of Ngāi Tukairangi in relation to the benefits derived from the Ngāi Te Rangi Treaty Settlement. The trustees are accountable to the members of Ngāi Tukairangi and are repsonsible for reporting to their hapu members.
The members of Ngāi Tukairangi elect the trustees to the Ngāi Tukairangi Hapū Trust via the election process in the Ngāi Tukairangi Hapu Trust Deed. The members of Ngāi Tukairangi also elect a trustee to the Ngāi Te Rangi Settlement Trust and Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Te Rangi Iwi Trust via the election process contained in the Ngāi Te Rangi Settlement Trust Deed.
The Hungahungatoroa Marae Committee administer Hungahungatoroa Marae affairs.
Background/Purpose: The trust was established in October 2013 to receive and manage any benefits for Ngāi Tukairangi arising from the Ngāi Te Rangi Treaty Settlement. Such benefits will be distributed to Ngāi Tukairangi Hapū Trust from the Ngāi Te Rangi Settlement Trust. The trustees of Ngāi Tukairangi Hapū Trust are responsible for managing the putea on behalf of the uri of Ngāi Tukairangi.

Election Policy: Trustees have a term of 3 years. The election process is governed by the Ngāi Tukairangi Hapū Trust Deed which holds that elections will be held at the annual general meetings of the Trust, where Ngāi Tukairangi members are able to vote by secret ballot.
