Ngāi Tamawhariua ki Te Rereatukahia currently have 584 registered members.
The trustees of the Ngāi Tamawhariua ki Katikati Trust govern the affairs of Ngāi Tamawhariua ki Te Rereatukahia in relation to the benefits derived from the Ngāi Te Rangi Treaty Settlement. The trustees are accountable to the members of Ngāi Tamawhariua ki Te Rereatukahia and are responsible for reporting to their hapu members.
The members of Ngāi Tamawhariua ki Te Rereatukahia elect the trustees to the Ngāi Tamawhariua ki Katikati Trust via the election process in the Ngāi Tamawhariua ki Katikati Trust Deed. The members of Ngāi Tamawhariua ki Te Rereatukahia also elect a trustee to the Ngāi Te Rangi Settlement Trust and Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Te Rangi Iwi Trust via the election process contained in the Ngāi Te Rangi Settlement Trust Deed.
The Te Rereatukahia Marae Tribal Committee administer Te Rereatukahia Marae affairs.
Background/Purpose: The trust was established in October 2013 to receive and manage any benefits for Ngāi Tamawhariua ki Te Rereatukahia arising from the Ngāi Te Rangi Treaty Settlement. Such benefits will be distributed to Ngāi Tamawhariua ki Katikati Trust from the Ngāi Te Rangi Settlement Trust.

Election Policy: Trustees have a term of 3 years. The election process is governed by the Ngāi Tamwhariua ki Katikati Trust Deed which holds that elections will be held at the annual general meetings of the Trust, where Ngai Tamawhariua hapū members are able to vote by secret ballot.
